Large cemetery found in Ukraine in Russian occupied territory, bodies of 440 people found

Kyiv, In the midst of the six-month-long Ukraine-Russian war, the Ukrainian military has claimed that they have found a large graveyard in an area held by Russian forces. According to a Reuters report, a mass grave containing 440 bodies has been found in the northeastern city of Izium, in which many of those buried were killed in shelling and airstrikes. The report claimed that Russian troops had fled in the past days after capturing the city and using the area as a logistics hub for Kharkiv region. Russian troops have left behind a large amount of ammunition and weapons.

Along with this, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has also confirmed the burial by tweeting. The Defense Ministry said in its tweet that 440 bodies have been found in the largest graveyard in Russian-occupied territory. Along with this, soldiers are engaged in the search of more hidden graves. The Kharkiv region’s chief police officer, Serhi Bolvinov, told Sky News that some people were killed by artillery fire and some were killed by air strikes.
